Materials used for manufacturing liting appliances such as stiff boom marine crane and offshore crane, telescopic boom marine crane and offshore crane, knuckle boom marine crane and offshore crane, are to comply with leading classification society . So the materials must be chosen according to internationalor national standards or to approved specifications. The selection of materials is also to be submitted to the classification society for acceptance. 

The requirements of materials are based, in general, on a design temperature not less than -10°C. Specific requirements for design temperatures below -10°Cand down to -40°C are need to be subject to special consideration of the Society.
